18 x 250g Dough Balls, each making a 12" pizza.

Indulge in authentic homemade pizza with our Sourdough pizza dough balls. Lovingly created in Yorkshire by Great Balls of Flour, using an authentic recipe.

Now you can make fresh restaurant quality pizza with ease, using dough delivered straight to your door.

The dough is crafted with wild yeast, using a mother starter (affectionately known as 'Bubbles'). A slow 48 hour cold fermentation process results in a robust, sour and tangy flavour with nutty afternotes.

The dough balls are shipped frozen, and may have thawed slightly on arrival. They can be safely refrozen and stored for up to 3 months, or can be stored thawed in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Preparation

The dough balls are shipped frozen, and may have thawed slightly on arrival. They can be safely refrozen and stored for up to 3 months, or can be stored thawed in the fridge for up to 3 days.

When it's time for pizza, for best results, remove frozen dough balls from the freezer the night before you plan to use them and allow to thaw overnight in their bags in the fridge. The following morning, remove each dough ball from the bag, re-ball and place into a Babadoh, cover with the lid to prevent the dough from drying out and allow to prove for at least 4 hours before opening out into a pizza base. For best results, leave for a maximum of 8 hours.

Lightly flour the dough ball, then gently press and stretch the dough ball out to a 12" pizza base. Full defrosting and preparation instructions are included in your order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes sourdough pizza balls different from regular dough?

Sourdough dough balls are made with wild yeast and slow-fermented over 48 hours, giving them a rich, tangy flavour with nutty undertones. They bake into a crust that’s crisp on the outside, chewy inside, and full of character.

Can I buy sourdough pizza dough balls online for delivery?

Yes, we deliver sourdough pizza dough across the UK in frozen packs. Just order online and get artisan-quality dough shipped straight to your door.

Are your sourdough pizza balls frozen or fresh?

They're shipped frozen to preserve quality and flavour. Once thawed and proofed, they behave just like freshly made sourdough pizza dough, no kneading required.

How do I prepare frozen sourdough pizza balls for baking?

Defrost overnight in the fridge, re-ball them in the morning, and let them proof for 4–8 hours at room temperature. Then stretch, top, and bake like any professional sourdough base.

Do your sourdough dough balls work in a home oven?

Absolutely. While they shine in pizza ovens, you’ll get great results in a regular oven too. For best texture, use a hot baking steel or pizza stone.

What size pizzas do your sourdough dough balls make?

Each 250g dough ball is portioned to create a 12-inch sourdough pizza with a bubbly crust and chewy base.

Can I refreeze sourdough pizza balls if they arrive slightly thawed?

Yes, if they’re still cold when they arrive, it’s safe to refreeze them immediately. Otherwise, store them in the fridge and use within 3 days.

What ingredients are in your sourdough dough balls?

They’re made with wheat flour, water, salt, and wild yeast, no preservatives, no sugar, no lactose, and no soy. They're vegan-friendly and crafted for clean, authentic flavour.

Are sourdough balls for pizza suitable for beginners?

Definitely. While sourdough has a reputation for being tricky, these dough balls are ready-made. Just defrost, proof, and bake, no complex starters or mixing needed.

What’s the best way to store sourdough pizza dough balls at home?

Keep them in the freezer until you’re ready to use them. Once thawed, store in the fridge for up to 3 days in a covered container like Babadoh to prevent drying out.
